Looking for time keeping. I need to be able to take a punch in / out time and convert it to a number...

4:36 PM to 9:44 PM = 5.25 hours.

Using your example 4:36 PM to 9:44 PM in Row 2:


The function DUR2HOURS is your friend.

Formula in D2: DUR2HOURS(C2−B2)

Fill down.

Column D is a number.


Sorry to disappoint you, but to achieve 5.25 hours, you must punch out at 9:51 (row3).

However, I see the point of your question 😎.
