Mail wont verfiy my icloud account

I deleted my mail account because it was showing I had one notification when I didn't. I deleted the mail app, redownloaded it, and now when I try to sign back into my icloud account in the mail app and I click verify at the top right after I put in my email and password it does not do anything. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the response. I figured it out though. I went to my settings and under my name in the Apple ID, then to iCloud, then to iCloud mail I had to enable “use on this iPhone”. I guess when I deleted the app it turned it off.

The first thing we would suggest would be to power cycle the iPhone by following these steps found at Restart your iPhone - Apple Support:  


1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.


While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections. 


Once restarted, go through the steps outlined at If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud - Apple Support to help with issues signing into iCloud.
