Reinstall Mac HD after erasing disc.

I am trying to confirm that I was successful in erasing all of my data on my Mac Desktop computer. Apple support suggested that I reinstall Mac HD to confirm that no data remains on my Mac before I turn it in to be recycled. Support suggested that I "Turn on my Mac, then immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, R." However, I received the following message when I rebooted: "The Recovery Server Could Not be Contacted.

Any other ideas?

Hi there!

Try starting up into macOS Internet Recovery using these steps:

  1. Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold these three keys until you see an Apple logo or other image: Option, Command (⌘) and R.
  2. If asked, select your Wi-Fi network, and enter your password.

If you see macOS Recovery after this step, let us know!
