What do you mean when you say "use" an Airport Express? You can absolutely use an Airport Express to get a wireless connection to your home/business network and to the Internet. If, however, you mean that you want to stream music from your iPad through the Airport Express (i.e. "Airtunes"), then I could be wrong but I don't believe that's possible. Perhaps someone else here will know a way, though.
That's exactly what I am saying. I want to stream music from my ipad directly to the aiport express to some cheap speakers. Just like I do with itunes in my computer
No, sorry, you're not on the right track. The Remote application mentioned on that page allows control of iTunes on a computer or Apple TV. It does not allow streaming of music directly from the iPad.
Carolyn, how is anyone to know that you plan to make an edit? I didn't reply until seven minutes after your post, so that doesn't seem to me to be particularly a snap reaction on my part.
Might I ask what you think referring the poster to the iTunes forum will do to help since what s/he wants to do is stream to the Airport Express
directly from his/her iPad which would not involve iTunes? I'm not clear on your thinking here, so if you can elaborate, perhaps that would spur some additional suggestions.
That is exactly what I want. My computers are on the second floor and I would like to be able to use the IPad as my portable jukebox connected to my airport express in the first floor.
It would be a most elegant way of using IPad + AE.
It's a shame apple hasn't added this support. It would definitively be a very nice addition.
I for one am still having issues with having to re-login to AD, especially in the iPad forum. No idea why. It took me awhile to re log in
twice, then checked that link, realized *my mistake* and deleted it.
You don't need iTunes software in order to stream audio from an iPad to a wireless speaker using Airport? I thought there might be something in the iTunes help is all.

I understand; AD can be troublesome at times. But I don't really think you need to jump on me for posting a reply/comment seven minutes after your post. Again, I had no way of knowing that you intended to come back in and edit (and we don't get much long than that to edit at all). Anyway, let's let that go.
Link's still there, BTW.
Again, the original poster wants to stream
directly from the iPad to the Airport Express. That's not possible by any method I've seen. The Remote app and similar apps allow someone to take control of iTunes running on a computer, and said iTunes could be streaming to an Airport Express. But that's not what the OP said s/he wanted to do.
