FWIW, I would not get a hard case for my Mac. The Mac already has a hard case. Heat is dissipated through the case. What is the reason for getting a hard case? Why not get a computer backpack or soft sleeve to use when transporting the computer?

I like to protect my new Apple gear when moving it from place to place. based on your response, will get a sleeve or case to transport in my carry on luggage

Thanks

Sounds like a plan. I've traveled extensively with my computer in a backpack and have never experienced an issue. Make sure the computer is completely shut down before putting it in a sleeve or into your carry-on luggage.
