Bootable installer for MacBook Pro 2018 doesn’t work

Hey guys

I was trying to get my Mac all cleaned up and erased to give to my little brother.

I accidentally erased everything, including the system Drive.

I have tried using online recovery tool

but it keeps giving me (server could not be contacted)

I tried to make a bootable installer, and although it shows up. When I ever I lunch it it shows a circle with line through it 🚫 icon and refer me to Apple website.

Hi there,

It seems like that the version of macOS that you want to install on the MacBook, is not compatible with this MacBook model. First determine what MacBook type you have, and what version of macOS you can run.

From this apple support article: If your Mac starts up to a circle with a line through it - Apple Support

A prohibitory symbol, which looks like a circle with a line or slash through it, means that your startup disk contains a Mac operating system, but it's not a version or build of macOS that your Mac can use.

  1. Press and hold the power button on your Mac for up to 10 seconds, until your Mac turns off.
  2. Use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk
  3. If Disk Utility found no errors or repaired all errors, reinstall macOS.
  4. If you still need help, please contact Apple Support.
