Our bank's portal tells me I must update my browser on my Mac to be compatible with their system. I have Ventura 13 1.2 operating system, and I cannot find an update for safari for that system in the app store. How can I rectify this?
My past experience with messages like this is that what the bank's site is telling you isn't entirely accurate, and that it's a "boilerplate" message the web designer stuck in there.
For me, every time I've run into this I've been able to "cure" it by simply using an alternate web browser like Chrome or Firefox. Some web sites simply aren't compatible with Safari.
You might try accessing your bank's portal via Chrome or Firefox and see if that message goes away.
(All this being said, keeping your Mac as up to date as possible is always the best practice.)

We've seen that mentioned here fairly often. Either the IT department at the bank is highly paranoid about security, or they don't know enough about Macs. It's usually the latter.
Often, you can get around the problem just by using a different browser for banking, like Firefox or Brave.
That's why I keep at least 2 different browsers on all my Macs for this very reason (welcome to 1998)!

I'm actually a bit surprised the bank is insisting on a newer version of Safari. The version in Ventura 13.1.2 isn't significantly different than in 13.4.1. But then again, there have been five updates to Safari since 13.1.2, and they all focus on security.
Just for " the fun of it " on these types of sites I will go Safari >> Setting >> Advanced Mode and enable " Show Developer Menu in Menu Bar.
Then change the default to Edge, Chrome of Firefox and experiment just to confuse the Site Developer a bit

Happens to me with some banks even with being on the latest version of Ventura.
Heh-heh! 🙂 That is a good one to try. I sometimes think banks just automatically tell you your browser isn't good enough simply because they detected Safari.

Often time Banks and other Secure Money Management site will offer a similar Update Suggestion because some, not all are only used to Microsoft Windows Operating System
They do not tailer there sites for Other More Secure Operating Systems like macOS

And you won't. You need to update the OS to its current 13.4.1 to get Safari updated to the newest version.
