Why Can I Not Binge Watch A New Show On Apple TV+?!?

If I Pay for Apple TV+ why can I not Binge Watch a new show like H/JACK?!?

This is a Subscription Service, specifically SVOD, & I Should be able to Decide what I want to watch, when & how Frequently based off my own time, not off of Apple TV+'s!

Waiting to watch a new episode of a show that exclusively streams has been proven by Nielsen to lose audience & have lower ratings.

Apple TV+ is NOT Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, etc. This is a streaming service like Netflix where the content is exclusively available via SVOD not like Broadcast Networks (e.g.. ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC), who can't & won't air a season of episodes online prior to airing each episode individually on their networks. They cannot first Stream & then Broadcast their shows because then their Affiliates will lose the financial earnings of Advertisements, which would cause them to go bankrupt & you'd lose ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, etc.. which is available to you for free via your service provider's most basic package or OTA.

Apple TV+ should allow one to watch any show at any time, not off a weekly basis, unless it's like Live Sports which cannot be available before the Live event occurs.

Again, If I Pay for Apple TV+ why can I not Binge Watch a new show like H/JACK?!?

All series on Apple TV are aired weekly, with sometimes dropping the first 3 at once. It has always been that way and that is the service you pay for. The same is true for HBO Max and Showtime as well. I wouldn't count on Netflix staying with the binge model either. They already started having some of their shows going to the weekly format.

Another thing, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC are not free through your providers basic package. The basic package includes the network fees paid for each network. They are called Carriage fees, Broadcast fees, Distribution fees, or Affiliate fees. Because they are included in the price of the basic provider package does not make them free.

Unfortunately HBO [Max] no longer exists (stupid David Zaslav). I know Max & Anytime really do the same as Broadcast because HBO & Showtime shows air on a weekly basis, so Max isn't going to have the complete season of The Righteous Gemstones streaming before it first airs on HBO (they could/would lose customers too), they do it at the same time it airs. HBO is premium which is why I was only mentioning Broadcast.

With Netflix, besides on screenrant.com, they were also being told, from within industry, during financial struggles (in 2022) that if they stopped customers ability to binge they'd lose customers. I'm not sure if any of the shows I've watched are being released now weekly but that's because new seasons are in post-production and awaited teasers were just released. I'll have to see starting around August.

By the way, H/Jack is a good series and I'm hooked after the first 3 episodes. Sure, I would like to continue watching, but the anticipation is also what keeps me coming back to Apple TV week after week.

I think we have identified that only Netflix supports the binge model and that does not mean every other streaming service should do that too. It is up to each company on the method they think will grow their subscriber base and retain those customers. If they can't keep coming out with quality shows to watch week after week, then subscribers would start leaving. They got us on H/Jack and I don't think either of us are going to cancel, because we have to wait a week for the next episode.

Most importantly, you have submitted feedback to Apple. They need to hear from users like you and who knows, maybe they will experiment by dropping a whole season of a show and measure the response.
