Typically, it would be better for a rechargeable battery, to provide it with a steady low charge. This would be true for the iPhone batteries as well. A fast charge is designed to get your phone's battery charged up to 50% within a 30 minute time period, and then will slow charge it from there. Note that Apple does not recommend fast charging your iPhone at ambient temperature extremes ... both hot & cold.
