Widget Stacks and Folders are affected after restart

I setup a stack that contains 3 widgets. Also, I have a few folders on my home screen. When I restart my iPhone, the Widget stack reduces to 2 widgets instead of 3.

All the icons in folders are single icons on the screen.

I have to re add the shortcuts to the widget stack and put the icons back into the folder.

Why is the iPhone SE doing that? Is there a fix for this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hello sabfa,

Sounds like you're having issues with widgets and folders on your Home Screen when you restart your iPhone. In this case, we'd recommend taking the following steps to try to solve this issue:

  1. Make sure you're running the latest iOS version supported by your iPhone. If needed, update the iPhone using these steps: Update your iPhone or iPad
  2. Remove the widget stack and add it back again: How to add and edit widgets on your iPhone Use sections, 'How to remove widgets' to remove the widget and 'How to use widget stacks' to add it back again.
  3. Check Screen Time for any restrictions: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  4. Restart your iPhone

If the issue continues despite the steps above, then it may be best to partner with Apple Support on a solution. Use this link to connect with them: Get Support They'd need to take it from here.

Note: To help Apple Support isolate the issue, see if the issue happens with a specific widget or apps within these folders on the Home Screen. If it's specific to an app, then we'd ensure the app is also updated: How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Wishing you well.

Take care.
