Voice that speaks over Apple Fitness workouts

This isn't about Apple TV per se but rather the Fitness+ service. If you've used it, you've probably heard the Siri-type voiceover that pops up every now and then. Essentially what I think is happening is that the trainer forgot to mention/stress part of the workout, and Apple "adds" it in with voiceover. For example, you might be doing some kind of HIIT workout and you'll hear over the trainer's voice and over the music something like, "Lift knees."

I'm just wondering if there is any way to turn that voice off. I don't think there is, but thought I would ask.

Hi George Krompacky,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you might be referring to Audio Hints. If that is the case, you can turn those off! See how here:

1. Open the Fitness app, then select who is working out.
2. Select your workout, then select the Play button.
3. Select the Metrics Editor button .
4. Select Audio Hints to turn them on or off. You can also adjust the speed of your audio descriptions.

Thanks.

Stevi,

Thanks, it was audio hints. Slight update to your instructions--it's not the metrics editor (maybe it used to be), but the icon to the left of it. I would post the icon image but I don't know how you linked to yours. It looks like a speech bubble.

I consider this bad UI, by the way. When a user starts a workout, they're going to be working out! These options should be visible in the Fitness+ interface even when workouts aren't underway.
