Apple ID with a @gmail.com domain

It's perfectly fine to use an @gmail.com email address as your Apple ID. As mentioned in the article with steps on creating an Apple ID you can use your current email address or get a free iCloud email address. "Create your Apple ID when you set up your device

1. Tap "Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?"
2. Tap Create a Free Apple ID.
