How to change primary iCloud email to another one?

Hello,


My mom created her Apple account some time ago. During that, she selected that Apple can create for her email for this account, xyz@icloud.com. Now, she wanted me to change her email to abc@gmail.com (which was quite easy) and delete old xyz@icloud.com because she don't want to use it anymore (or if can't delete it, at least change it from xyz to abc, so it will be abc@icloud.com).


I manage to change for her that her Apple account now use abc@gmail.com, but xyz@icloud.com is still shown in iPhone as title and in list of emails. How can I remove xyz@icloud.com or at least change it to abc@icloud.com?

Hello Daavek,


It isn't possible to change the primary email address for iCloud Mail. Once set up, you would be unable to change the iCloud email you created on the Apple ID: Create a primary email address for iCloud Mail


It sounds like you needed to update the email address on the Apple ID, which you were able to do. Likely by following the steps outlined here: Change your Apple ID If you did follow these steps, then you'd need to specifically take Step 6 to ensure the correct account is signed in to the device.


Step 6: If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID.
