how do i remove these highlights from app navigation icons?

Hello!

These “highlights” are called “Botton Shapes.” To turn them off, please go to: Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Now, turn the switch next to “Button Shapes” OFF.

If you find that it is already off, please scroll down a bit, and tap on “Color Filters.” Now, turn Color Filters ON, and set the check mark to “Grayscale.” Now you can turn Color Filters OFF again.

This may also get rid of the problem. Please report back which of these steps fixed the issue for you.

I apologize. It seems like I incorrectly explained the Color Filter trick. I told you to check mark Grayscale, and then turn Color Filters Off. This, however, is the cause of the issue!

So please check mark Red/Green Filter, and the turn Color Filters OFF. That should solve the issue.
