Why iPhone erase option available rather than backup and erase after iphone becomes unavailable.

@Apple #BIGMESS It’s been two terrible nights but i am still clueless how to retrieve / backup my data as my "IPHONE IS UNAVAILABLE", had called Apple support helpline and have spoken to two executives still got NO RESOLUTION.

All the notes, photos, WhatsApp chats are lost just because i forgot the passcode . How is this fair, in today's Data led world i am denied access to my own data.

It looks like a big mess and i am numb as 90% of my work is done with the data on my phone and all important files are Saved on it.

I sincerely believe that Apple as a company values customer satisfaction and will give importance to my right of "accessing my own data".

In deep trouble because of your policy please give me a solution asap.

Very hopeful of a positive response from your end.

Thankyou

Prasanna D

Your data is not lost. It is still available in your most recent backup. You were making backups, right? Did you seriously do 90% of your work without a backup? iCloud backups are fully automatic as long as you enable them. When you keep important data in only one place, you will eventually lose it. That's not an "If" but a "When."

Once your iPhone displays "disabled" or "unavailable," your data is gone. There is no possible way to access it on the iPhone, as iOS has discarded the decryption key for your data. It is entirely gibberish at that point. But it is still fully intact in your backup.
