Crossfade on Mac not working with AirPods Pro 2nd generation (and only working occasionally on MacBook speakers)

After disabling Lossless Audio, Crossfade is working okayish with my MacBook speakers (it somehow always takes 2-3 songs for crossfade to enable itself?). However, as soon as I'm using my AirPods Pro, there is absolutely no way that I can bring Crossfade to work...!

Are these problems that can be solved somehow by me in some kind of settings or is this a software bug?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.4

These are my settings ("Titel überblenden" means "Crossfade" in German, the rest should be self-explaining :) )
