Spilled acetone on keyboard of MacBook Air

I’ve spilled acetone on macbook air M1 2021 and didn’t turn it off adter fee minutes the display colour changed and there was a broad vertical black line on the display.

Currently I’ve turned it off and kept it in rice grains.

Is my display corrupted ?

How can I solve this issue ?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.4

Acetone isn't water, so rice won't really help. On top of that, despite all of the links and videos you'll find about rice, it's one of the worst things to put a wet device in. Rice dust gets into the ports and expands from the water it absorbs. Then dries in that expanded clump.

There's no telling what a strong solvent like acetone did to your MacBook Air. Follow BobTheFisherman's advice and have it checked out at an Apple Store, or other authorized Apple dealer.

Liquids and electronics do not go well together. Liquid damage is often extensive and ongoing. Your computer needs to be examined by an authorized service center.

Acetone is a very strong solvent that dissolves and ruins certain plastics, paints and coatings. That kind of damage is not repairable.

If it got inside into the electronics, it may not affect them as it can be used as a cleaner. But again, some plastic and rubber parts can be completely ruined just by momentary contact.

Your display is likely severely damaged.

There is no resolution for damaged plastics, rubber and such.
