Why are my photos not uploading from my iPhone to my mac computer?

Not all my new photos will manually upload to my computer. About a dozen didn't upload (with iPhone plugged into computer). I had to manually upload one at a time. BUT I can't get the last 4 to upload. One had already been uploaded, but is still in the "to be uploaded" area! Problems started with Apple's plans with Photostream. Before that, I had had my phone/computer set up, so NOTHING automatically went to my computer or the cloud! I would plug in my iPhone and manually upload my photos myself! Now I can't trust that! They've been going to the Cloud! I DON'T WANT MY PHOTOS IN THE CLOUD. I ONLYL want my photos on my iPhone (I delete most after I've uploaded to my computer) AND my computer!!!

How can I get that to happen the way I want?

And why can't I upload the last 4 photos?

Hello Mail problems,

If you want to store your pictures directly on each device, just turn off the iCloud Photos service.

On your Mac

1. Open the Photos app, then choose Photos > Settings or Photos > Preferences.

2. Click iCloud, then deselect iCloud Photos.

On your iPhone or iPad

1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.

2. Tap iCloud > Photos.

3. Deselect "Sync this [Device]" to turn off iCloud Photos.

How to turn off iCloud Photos

If you're using the iCloud Photos service, then that would be why you can't manually import through a cabled connection. iCloud Photos automatically syncs your pictures so the same ones are on all devices, which eliminates the need to manually sync. You would need to turn off the iCloud Photos service on your devices first before you can manually import pictures through a cabled connection.
