Changed my apple id but now can't access icloud as the username in the box I cant change is the old one?

Wondering if you tried a "restart" on the Windows laptop, as the changed info. may then update.

Hi, I have changed my appleuser name but now I cant get into icloud on my labtop. It keeps asking for my password but has the old username already written in the box and I cant change it?
