iMessages software update

Since I updated my software to 16.5.1, my iPhone 14 Pro is constantly alerting me that my iMessage is off. Internet searches tell me this is a simple fix, to just turn it back on in settings, which I do, multiple times per day. This seems to be due to a lack of Wi-Fi. However, I have always lived and worked in an area with poor reaction, where Wi-Fi is only available when I walk in and out of buildings. I’ve never received errors throughout the day that my iMessage is off. And I keep discovering that I’m not receiving messages too late due to it turning off automatically. Is there a system update for this? (And on another note, why did “update” auto correct to “Judy”? How annoying to constantly have Apple update words to proper nouns.) Thanks.

To activate iMessage and FaceTime using your Phone number

First, check to know whether you have an SMS plan enabled at least for One SMS*** with your carrier. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) the agency that issued the SIM to you

If your iPhone is used with a carrier not found in the wireless carrier articles, make sure you can send and receive international SMS. (One international SMS*** Only)

If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...

*** You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM/eSIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.
