Replace Arabic & English keyboard to Just Uk English

An Employee has an MacBook Pro 13inch M1 2020 bought in UAE a couple of years ago, now in the UK is it possible to have the keyboard replaced to a UK only keyboard at an Apple store. Ive called Apple Support several times for an answer & quote but are getting mixed reply's 1 says its approximately £229 then 2nd time says its not possible in any Apple store? & to be honest they are not helping, especially as i cannot actual speak to the Liverpool or Manchester store & they are over 1h away so dont want to visit for them to say no we cant do it?

Hope someone can help.

Contacting Apple is not going to help. For as long as I can remember their service policy has been to only replace parts "in kind," meaning that if your computer has a UAE board now, they will only replace it with a UAE board.

An Apple Authorized Service Provider will probably have to replace the entire upper deck assembly. Several major internal components require the battery to be removed. That cannot be done without using dangerous solvents that cannot be used or even stored in a commercial/retail setting due to HAZMAT and fire code regulations.

Given the high cost of a new deck and the labor involved (est total US$ 500-800), you are better off either living with the keyboard you have or selling the current computer

Another possible option, at least while using the computer at home or in the office, is an external keyboard that fits your current needs.

Unfortunately the only way to find out whether you can do that and how much it would cost is to contact stores directly yourself like you have done. Nobody in these user to user help forums represents Apple sales or any store.

Another option might be to sell the Arabic machine and buy a replacement with the desired keyboard.

Setting the input source to British will make the Arabic keyboard behave exactly like a UK one, but I gather that is not enough?

Many thanks, just impossible to contact an apple store it rings just once then goes through to Apple Support Which just deal with Software, they then try to contact an Apple store to ask about the Hardware, but keep getting different answers, how can it be so hard to contact a store when the company is supposed to be So customer focuses & makes so much profit?
