backup not working for ipads or iphone.

Backup not working on ipads and iphone. New faster network, and has backed up successfully as of 7/5. Tried on/off nonsense as well as hard restart. Keep getting message cannot backup because of poor network conditions, which is nonsense. Any other suggestions before i waste time trying to contact support? Btw, have plenty of cloud space having added the premium.

Poor network conditions can be an indication of many potential issues, including (but not limited to):

  • the connection to Apple’s backup servers is sub-optimal (you have no control over internet routing)
  • your WiFi network may not be performing as expected (interference, dropped packets, jitter etc.)
  • your WiFi/internet router may be unexpectedly blocking traffic to some internet servers

A restart of your WiFi Router may be helpful.

To restart you home router, disconnect power - then wait at least 30 seconds before restarting. When you router has rebooted (which may take several minutes), force-restart your iPad:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

Should it be necessary to escalate your issue to Apple Support, the quickest route to engaging with Apple Support will be via the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page - or using this link:

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
