In the Finder just double-click the backup file you want to use. You'll find them in Movies > Final Cut Backups.
Inside FCPX select the Library in the Browser, then to go File > Open Library > From Backup...
Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried that but I’m getting very clunky performance and frame dropping on simple HD timeline. It started when I upgraded to FCP 10.6.6 this morning. I’m on a late 2015 MBP with
2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB
It had been working fine with 10.6.5.
In order to try and figure out what may causing the slowdown:
First, delete preferences: To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.
Second, if the issue persists, Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.
