I have an Aperture library of 244GB on an external drive = at 12:30p I clicked on it to open it in and convert it to Photos. It did open Photos and apparently migrated the ApL = the Photoslibrary says 236G - and I'm looking at Activity Monitor and it looks like it's still going but the open Photos Library says "Updating Library...5% complete" = and has for the past 2 hours. Do I just wait? Anything else to do?

It may take some time for the Photos app to update your library dependent upon how many photos and videos you're adding and the speed and reliability of your network connection. 244 GB is a considerable amount of photos . We'd suggest leaving your Mac powered on, Photos open, and staying connected to your network until the process completes. Thank you - but this is not the system library = it's a separate Photos Library that's being converted from an ApLibrary = but you are probably right, I need to practice patience. I do have the Avalanche for Photos app and will try that.
