Can't add wise card to iPhone 16.5.1 - Could not add card

Hello,

I think there's problem with the last iphone update 16.5.1 (iPhone 14 Pro Max).

I can't add my wise card because after the agreement thing it just says could not add card and to contact my bank.

The problem is that i just tried to add to my iPad and Apple Watch and it works just fine, both under the same connection and region.

iPadOS 16.3.1

Apple Watch 9.3.1

Please this needs to be fixed, it's the update 16.5.1

I had the same issue, also on 16.5.1. I had to restore my phone after the update due to some issues and then I found that I couldn't add the Wise card on both my iPhone and Macbook.

I contacted Wise and they could offer no advise except that I was unable to add the card to Apple Pay due to "security reasons" which they won't say. They just told me to try again next time.

So I took it upon myself to try different things. I always had 0 money on my card, so I added 1 USD and behold, I was able to get past the terms and conditions screen and to the verification screen where I was able to pick between different ways to verify (I chose text message. I think this is irrelevant). It finally worked! It worked on both my Macbook and iPhone!

tl;dr I added money to my Wise account with zero balance and then got it to work

No, it doesn't arrive to that point.

I confirm all the things, exp date and cvv, then the agreement thing pops up, i click on accept, and then there it says Could not add card

Please contact Wise customer support and make sure your card is activated and confirm Wise does not have a block on your account/card.

If Wise support confirms your card and account, then contact Apple Support team at 1-800-MY-APPLE for assistance.

Thanks for sharing your advice but it didn't work for me.

I already have balance on my Wise account and still doesn't let me confirm with a text or email.

I also updated to last iOS 16.6 hoping it would fix it but same issue unfortunately.

I don't know anymore what to do.

Hello everyone, I thought people might like to know that I was having similar problems adding the Wise card to Apple Pay. However, when I added it from Apple Wallet (i.e. from my iPad's Settings) it went through just fine.

You’re in the beginning of the verification process. Do your receive the notification that says, you’ll receive a text, email or voice call?
