Left AirPod is not as loud as the right AirPod

My AirPods (second gen) have been working fine. But lately, my left AirPod is significantly softer than my right one. I went into the accessibility settings and looked to see if they are off balance (and they weren’t). If I adjust the slider to divert more sound to the left AirPod, it evens out, but then both of the AirPods are extremely quiet. Additionally, my left AirPod dies much faster than it used to. Is there any way to fix this?

I suggest you start by following the appropriate cleaning advice,

How to clean your AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods - Apple Support

then if the problem is not fixed, check steps in

If your left or right AirPod isn't working - Apple Support

The final option is to contact Apple Support and arrange to get your AirPods checked for hardware defects.
