Hi fleshmop,

If you are using the on-screen iPhone keyboard and find that a particular key isn't working, we would suggest first isolating the issue to the keyboard, a specific app, or the display. To do this, open the Search on your iPhone and try to type and then backspace. Then, open another app, such as Notes or Safari, and try the same steps. We also suggest doing this in both the landscape and portrait orientations, which will help us isolate a potential issue with one specific spot on the display.

If you are using a physical keyboard connected via Bluetooth, such as the Magic Keyboard, try the same steps as above, but also try pairing it to another device. This will help us determine if the issue is specific to your iPhone.

If the issue seems to be with the display or a Magic Keyboard, we recommend getting in touch with Apple Support directly. They will be able to go over options moving forward. You can reach them here: Get Support

If you still need help after that, please don't hesitate to respond back.

Cheers!

Hello fleshmop,

Thanks for those additional details. So you're talking about a software based keyboard where a key is not responding properly, not a physical keyboard where the key is getting stuck. Thanks for that clarification.

For a software based keyboard issue, you'll want to make sure you've covered the basics like restarting the device and making sure it's up to date.

Restart your iPhone

Update your iPhone

If you have a 3rd party keyboard installed on the device, try removing that and see if the built in keyboard does the same thing.

Add or change keyboards on iPhone

If the key is still not responding properly, you'll want to contact Apple to report that issue: Get Support

Cheers!
