Why can’t I connect to Xfinitywifi?

Why can’t I connect to Xfinitywifi? I’m getting an error saying The WI-Fi network "finitywiff" could not be joined.Try moving closer to the wireless router.

Alternatively, run Wireless Diagnostics to troubleshoot.

If you are talking about the xfinitywifi network you see when searching for networks, this is not necessarily your WiFi network and can be any of your neighbors that xfinity lets their users connect to. They use this as a public network and in the list of Wifi networks it will not have a lock next to it. There is no guarantee of the speed of this network as it is piggybacked on whatever device is transmitting it and may be too far away to get a reliable connection.

If you are trying to connect to your WiFi router from Xfinity, the name and password will be on the back or bottom of the router and it will not be called "xfinitywifi".
