My phone wants to update to 16.5.1(c). Should I install it?

iOS updates include security patches and this one in particular provides a Rapid Security patch, that will protect you from a threat. So yes, you should update your iPhone.

Apple pulled (a) because it interfered with a couple of apps, notably Facebook (which may not have been a bad thing). So (c) was released to fix the problem introduced with (a).

I’ve previously loaded (a), and had no issues. I’m presently loading (c).

As far as I can tell, we have yet to see any negative feedback from 16.5.1 (c) on this support forum.

Yes and No

Yes, if you want to add important security updates to your phone.

No, if you don't.

I too installed the (a) update and had zero issues. But of course I updated to (c) the moment it was released.
