Walkie-Talkie not working on my son's watch.

I tried it all. This happened to me with my daughter's watch a few years ago and was told to contact support after doing everything there was to do(by Apple's community) to troubleshoot it. I think there was an update shortly thereafter that solved the problem. It comes down to Apple, quite simply put. Walkie talkie was working fine up until a week ago. The icon disappeared from his watch under contacts, he can't FaceTime voicecall, and he can't send invitations without being bounced back saying the invitation wasn't received. None of the family can reach him by Walkie Talkie. It's mind numbing that problems like these still exist for Apple Watch.

You have not given us enough information to help in detail.

Please post again these details:

The Model of Watch eg Series 7, SE 2022

The OS it is running, eg OS9.4 (Settings, General, About if you can see it)

The model of the paired iPhone eg iPhone 11

The iOS it is running eg iOS16.4 (Settings General, About)

Is it his own iphone or family paired to yours?

I suspect that if it is his own phone he should do this...

Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage

Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time

Restart the phone.

Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS

Settings, Messages, send & Receive, Start new conversations from,  select his Apple ID which should now be there.

Settings, Face Time, Turn on Face Time

Please be more careful to read what was written. I had this problem before, so you can assume all steps were taken at the community algorithm level. It's my son's watch, so he doesn't have his own iPhone. If he did, I certainly wouldn't be dealing with this myself! The OS is up to date and I am using the latest hardware: SE watch and 14 Pro Max. I hope this appeases you.

My hope is that someone out there has the same problem and shares their experience or that this gets escalated to people who can actually do something about it. I mean, why do we agree to Apple analytics if I still have to go on this community board to report this? Why isn't analytics triggering a solution? I thought the rapid security response patch I downloaded yesterday would solve it, but no. That's right people check your devices again and for yet another security update 16.1.5(c). In the end, I buy these products because I expect them to work when I need them and when there's a problem, I expect them to find solutions Apple fast. Is this too much to ask?
