You cannot update it to iOS 14. Apple introduced the iPhone 5s almost eleven years ago, in September 2023. At that time, it ran iOS 7. It since received updates to iOS 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. iOS 12 is the end of the line.

If you want to actually have a recent version of iOS, it is time to buy a new iPhone. I would suggest an iPhone that will be compatible with iOS 18. There's a compatibility list near the bottom of the iOS 18 Preview page.
