Can I use a MacBook as a second display with Mac mini?

I have a Mac mini M2 and am thinking of purchasing a MacBook Air 15. Is there any way to use the MacBook Air wirelessly as an extended display with my Mac mini?

Basically I want Sidecar but with the MacBook and not an iPad.

You can use AirPlay to Mac to mirror or extend your Mac mini's screen to the MacBook Air, but there will be some lag, and you will need an actual display connected to the Mac mini to set it up each time as it won't just automatically connect.
