How to use a lowercase l on Apple Watch Series 3 for a password field?

How to use a lowercase l on Apple Watch Series 3 for a password field? It's asking me to login with my Apple ID, and my password uses a lowercase l. Every time I draw a vertical line it uses the number one (1). I've read other posts saying you can spin the crown, but when I do it just moves the cursor to the previous character or scroll to the end in the opposite direction. No arrows appear to change the scribbled 1 into an l. If I use a capital L, it doesn't let me convert to lowercase via the same method. So I'm basically unable to log in since everytime it wants to input a 1 for a vertical line, and using cursive it wants to put an e. Capital L again doesn't let me change to lowercase.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Apple Support Communities Brer_Dragon,

With the Scribble keyboard option, it can sometimes take a few entries for the watch to provide the right output. Additionally, if you have already entered a numeric one (1) in your password, it is more likely for the watch to think you are typing another numeric one (1) after that, even if you're attempting to enter a lower case L (l).

After testing, we did discover that you can write a cursive lower case L (l) to get it to recognize. Just make sure it is tall and thin versus shorter or fatter.

You should also be able to use the keyboard on your iPhone to enter text after you start typing the password. The following resource provides direction on how to do this. Even though it is specific to writing messages, it should apply to any text field on the watch: Write and reply to mail on Apple Watch - Apple Support
