Hello Walletarian,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. From the information you provided it appears that the song is waiting to upload to iCloud Music. Our recommendation is to restart your Mac and to verify that Sync Library is turned on. This may help your song to complete the upload. Here's how:

How to turn on Sync Library on your Mac
1. Open the Apple Music app.
2. In the menu bar, choose Account and make sure that you're signed in with the same Apple ID that you use with your Apple Music subscription.
3. Choose File > Library > Organize Library. Then select Consolidate files.
4. Choose Music > Settings or Music > Preferences.
5. Click the General tab.
6. Select Sync Library.
Preferences showing Sync Library turned on
7. Click Ok.
8. Wait for your music library to sync. To check the status, go to the bottom of the sidebar and click Updating Cloud Library.
9. Turn on Sync Library on your other devices.

Following these steps may help and is outlined in this article: Use Sync Library to access your music library across your devices - Apple Support

Kind regards.

Hey Walletarian,

Is this behavior specific to this song or album? The "Check the cloud status of songs on your Mac or PC" section of If songs are missing from your music library after you turn on Sync Library has some steps to take if you see Waiting or other Cloud Status states. For one that is listed as Waiting, try the following:

"The song won’t appear on your other devices because it’s waiting to upload. Choose File > Library > Update Cloud Library. Then check if the song appears on your other devices."

Be sure to review that entire link for additional information. Also, if you are using Sync Library, there's no need to sync to the libraries of other devices manually, as you get one or the other but not both. At present, there's not a way to import playlists from iTunes to Apple Music, but playlists created in the Music app while using Sync Library should sync those playlists to other devices with the Music app and the same Apple ID installed.

Take care.

Thank you Bryanr14,

The only thing I had not done is was Consolidate files.

I have left the machine on and Music App open all day. Can't see the bottom sidebar. Don't see any changes to "cloud status: Waiting."

Do I have to do Sync Library on iPhone? When I did a connected sync, my created Playlists were gone from the phone. I used to have two tabs in the iOS Apple Music App. AppleMusic and My Library. Those tabs were gone.

My older MacBook still has iTunes and Mojave with another Apple ID. Do I try to sync with that one?

Is there a way to import/export playlists from iTunes to Apple Music?
