Redeem Apple Music 6-Month Subscription | AirPods 3rd Gen | MacBook Air

Hi, I recently purchased AirPods 3rd generation, and I would like to redeem the 6-month free Apple Music subscription that comes with them. I'm trying to do this on a MacBook Air 13''.

I've already tried the steps that are mentioned in this article:

My AirPods are connected to my MacBook, I'm signed in to my AppleID in Music.app, I've tried quitting and restarting the app (and my laptop), and going to the "Listen Now" tab as well, but the prompt to "Get 6 months Free" doesn't show up. Is this not doable on a mac? If it is, kindly advise me on how I can proceed with the same. Thanks.
