If it is the email password you forgot that prevents you from receiving emails, then log into the email providers web page and choose the forgot password option. You will then have to add the newly created password to your Mail settings to start receiving emails again.
If the email is an iCloud.com email address, then the password is the same as your Apple ID and you will need to reset your Apple ID password as stated earlier.
