iOS 16.5.1 SMS problem

After upgrading to iOS 16.5.1(c), SMS messages are being marked Not Delivered, but ARE being delivered.

Has anyone found a solution for this?

Solved the problem, dumb mistake.

After upgrading iOS the Send and Receive address for iMessage wasn;t set; choosing my number there solved the problem.

Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive

Remove (c) and test again.

To remove the Rapid Security Response:

Settings > General > About > iOS Version > Remove Security Response > Confirm

Test again.

If that works, log feedback with Apple. If the removal that fails to resolve this, check first with your carrier, then—if the carrier indicates no issues—with Apple.

I was texting (SMS) via my MacBook Pro up until I ran the new security update. I haven't been able to text since. I did back off my iPhone as you mentioned though that was after I updated my laptop with the same security patch. Resulting in - inability to text from my laptop. I can text just fine via my phone. I tried all the usual "can't send via SMS" fixes and same results (including restarting both devices multiple times).

Any other advice?
