Airdrop failed - not enough space

This has come up before, but no solution I found. Brand new iPhone14pro. Over 200GB of space empty on phone. Trying to airdrop multiple files from a 12pro with more than 50GB empty. Airdrop fails on 14 with “not enough space”.

One by one files work. Multiple files fails. Restarting doesn’t help at all. Still fails. Who wants to airdrop one by one?

What’s the fix for this bug on my $1300 phone?

Hi sjlocke,

We recommend you double-check to ensure you have enough storage space. You can do that by going to Settings > General > About. Once you're there, look at the "Available" section directly underneath the area that says "Capacity."

If you find that you do have a good amount of free space available, check to make sure you're running the latest version of iOS by taking a look at this link: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

1. Press the Menu button multiple times until the main menu appears.
2. Scroll to and select Settings > About.
3. The software version of your device should appear on this screen. On iPod nano (3rd or 4th generation) and iPod classic, press the Center button twice on the About screen to see the software version.

If you’re running a dated version of iOS, please use the link below to update your device, followed by retesting the functionality of AirDrop.

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Please let us know the outcome after giving the above steps a try.
