I purchased a brand new iMac24" from Best Buy in December of 2022, brand new, I have used the iTunes Store application on this machine and suddenly it is gone. Was it discontinued, do we use the App Store instead or are we to do something else? Please advise.

AFAIK the only " a brand new iMac 24" , would be an Apple Silicon computer with the M1 Chip.
The oldest version of macOS this computer could run would be macOS 11 Big Sur
In which case iTunes would have be changed into the separate applications listed from the link below.

Just to add, as of macOS Catalina, iTunes was split into three apps; Music, Podcasts and TV.
I never knew there was a store app. I always used iTunes and now Music to access the iTunes Store.
iTunes Store Is No Longer There?
