Why don't have the option to set up 'Medications' on the Health app for my child

My 11yo has to take daily meds and I want to set up reminders for him to support him learning to self manage. On my phone I can do this using the medications option on the Health app. But ‘medication’ doesn’t appear as an option on his iPhone 7. Is there an age restriction for this?

Hello DRTRGT66,

I'm not familiar with any age restrictions, however, you do need to be on iOS 16 / watchOS 9 to be able to use Medications - Add and log medications with iPhone and Apple Watch - Apple Support.

I believe iPhone 7 can only go to iOS 15.7.7 or something similar.

You can try using the Reminders app to set reminders to take medication as well!

Use Reminders on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I hope this helps!
