How can i connect my 8th generation iPad to ethernet
Hi,
There have been some proposed solutions on the Internet for similar devices, including combinations with a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - Apple and an Apple USB Ethernet Adapter - Apple. Consider this to be experimental. You may be able to find additional information via a web search for something like connect ipad via ethernet.
You’ll need to connect the Ethernet Adapter to your wired network with a suitable CAT5/6 Ethernet cable - and turn-off WiFi in iPad settings:
Settings > WiFi > WiFi - set to OFF
Assuming that your wired ethernet network has a DHCP server, your iPad will self-configure it’s Ethernet settings and connect to your network. The Ethernet Adapter will appear in iPad settings should you need to manually configure the network connection.
Thanks ... once I have the iPad connected how do I get it to recognize the Ethernet network?
Your iPad8 has a Lightning port. While Apple doesn’t itself manufacture a Lightning to Ethernet Adapter, there are third party Ethernet adapters designed to work with your iPad. Apple market this adapter from Belkin:
