How do I identify my CPU on an old apple mini?

Selling an old 2014 apple mini, reformatted the HDD and forgot to check CPU type. How can I do this w/o setting it up again?

Hi Chris,

Some models have a label on the bottom with the serial number, a description, and the "order" number. That label may show the processor type and speed in plain language.

If not, the "order" number might; they vary with configuration. This is from the MacTracker database† listing for the 2014 Mini:

MGEM2LL/A (1.4 GHz), MGEN2LL/A (2.6 GHz), MGEQ2LL/A (2.8 GHz)

Look a the first five characters (the trailing ones are used to show localization). If the order number's first five characters do not match one of those, then you like have the very desirable Core i7 processor.

If there is not a sticker on the case bottom, I hope you kept the box. It should have all your need.

I do not believe Apple's serial number lookup returns the processor type/speed, but you can try:
