Two Apple ids

A few years back, I somehow created a second Apple id for use in the App Store only. Now it keeps popping up and causing confusion. The email I used is about to be discontinued. How do I delete that Apple id?

Thanks for this, but the trouble is I cannot find a way to login to the second Apple id account. It’s a problem only when Apple decides I must login and supplies the wrong email/id, for which I have no password. If I change the problematic email to the one I use 90% of the time, I receive and error message to the effect of “wrong Apple id or password”; after two more tries I’m locked out. I don’t need this secondary Apple id for anything, but don’t want to risk deleting the good one I’ve used for decades.
