archive an individual conversation

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there is a way to 'archive' just one particular iMessages conversation? I have been communicating with a person over the period of about 4 weeks daily. I want to archive this whole conversation and want to know if there is a way to do it... other than making a ton of screenshots ( which i have done in the past but is not very time efficient ).

Maybe there's a 3rd party app? I'd rather just do it within my 2020 iMac 27" 5K retina running Ventura 13.4.1 (c) (22F770820d) .

Thanks.

Dennis

Hey there wunwspirit,

Since you're unable to download messages from another device, like a computer, you would need to have a screenshot of the messages or forward the individual messages to another account or device via email. The steps below will show you how:

Forward messages

1. Touch and hold a message bubble you want to forward, then tap More.
2. Tap to select one or more messages to forward, then tap the Forward button.
3. Enter recipients, then tap the Send button.

Send screenshots of conversations

To show the message bubbles and timestamps just as they appear in a conversation, send a screenshot as an attached image instead of forwarding messages.

1. Scroll to position the conversation on the screen, then take a screenshot.
2. For longer conversations, scroll again to reposition the screen and continue taking screenshots.
3. Tap the Back button, then tap the Compose button.
4. Enter recipients, tap the text field, then tap the Photos button.
5. Tap images to select screenshots, then tap the Send button.

To share your messages on other devices besides your iPhone, use Messages in iCloud.
