Safari Browsing History

Why can't I see my browsing history on my Mac, but I can see it on my iPad? Both of these devices are using the same apple id.

Do you have iCloud for Safari enabled on all of your devices? These steps can help you check:


"Set up iCloud for Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or later: Tap Show All, then turn on Safari.
    • iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or earlier: Turn on Safari.

3.To see your bookmarks, Reading List, Tab Groups, and tabs open on your other devices, open Safari.

For more information on how to use bookmarks, a Reading List, and tabs on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, see any of the following:


Set up iCloud for Safari on your Mac

  1. On your Mac, do one of the following:
    • macOS Ventura 13.3 or later: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, then click iCloud on the right. Below Apps Using iCloud, click Show All, then turn on Safari.
    • macOS Ventura 13 to 13.2: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, click iCloud on the right, then turn on Safari.
    • macOS 12 or earlier: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Apple ID, click iCloud, then select Safari.

2.To see your bookmarks, Reading List, Tab Groups, and tabs open on your other devices, open Safari.
