Buying more iCloud storage, does not and cannot increase the space you have on your iPhone. Your iPhone's memory was fixed at purchase. All buying more iCloud storage does is let you "sync" more data with the cloud, if the free 5GB of iCloud storage you received isn't enough iCloud storage for backups.

Simply said, if you are out of space on your iPhone, you need to delete things you don't need or use, such as Photos, Music, Files, Messages, Email, Apps, etc. Next time you buy an iPhone, you clearly need to buy one with more memory than the phone you have now.

You bought more iCloud storage. It is not possible to purchase additional iPhone storage.

Once your request for iCloud+ has been activated, you should receive an invoice in your email box.
Check -> Go to -> Settings -> your name -> iCloud -> if you see 50 GB (or 200 GB or 2 TB) then you have an iCloud subscription.
If you have an iCloud subscription, you will receive a monthly bill from Apple, check your email box.
You pay monthly for iCloud storage.

iCloud storage is not the same thing as local device storage. See the previous replies in this thread.

The article I linked in my response above suggests how to conserve the iPhone storage you have.
