I have an old iPhone 6 that I am trying to connect to Mint Mobile, but I have to update the ios to 12 before I can download the Mint App. the phone won't connect to my PC to update. Is there a way to bypass the PC? The phone is connected to wifi.

Try tap Settings > General > Software Update. Need a good Wi-Fi Internet connection and battery charged to 60%+.
