Photo recovery software
Can anyone recommend image recovery software suitable for MacBook? Have tried Sandisk rescue Pro but very clunky and does not appear compatible for M1 chip.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Your best bet for image recovery is from your Time Machine backup.
When you move an item to the Trash and empty the Trash on the Mac startup drive, the operating system will identify the storage space used by that deleted image as reclaimable for other system storage needs and after that happens, it will not be recoverable by any means.
If that photo was on iCloud, you have a 30-day sliding window from the deletion time when iCloud will allow you to recover deleted files.
In my opinion, so-called Recovery software is not worth the money (even if free) and what it may recover may not be intelligible by software expecting to open an image.

I was hoping for someone with actual experience of one of the many software suites available to recover images from an SD card. I have already tried one, Sandisk Rescue pro, which was a waste of time. I will try other forums.
I maybe was not clear enough in my question. I am trying to recover.RAF images on an SD card so Time Machine will simply not work.
Good luck with that recovery effort… as I know of no software to do that on an SD card.
