how to stop iMac 24" ventura 13.4.1 from logging out by itself. Cannot find setting that applies to this problem except for this one: Display, Advanced, energy, "prevent automatic sleeping when the display if off". Unforltunately when I try to use the slider to select his option, the slider will NOT allow me to make the selction.

Try this:

In System Settings->Privacy & Security, click Advanced... (it's a the very bottom, you may need to scroll to see it).

There is a setting for "Logout automatically after inactivity". Turn it off, or choose a longer delay.

Did you ever schedule repeating automatic logout or login time setting...?

From Terminal.app you cancel these settings manually, copy and paste:

sudo pmset repeat cancel

Thanks for the quick reply. My iMac does not list the selections you referred to. Can I assume you meant Sysem settings, privacy & security, DISPLAY, advanced, ENERGY? Assuming the was the correct selection....when I attempt to move the slider from yes to no, on the line that says "prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off".....my mouse cannot move the slider to the yes position, it always snaps back from yes to no. Help.
