I have a charge on applypay I need to report as fraud
Hello Laurelbart,
Could you elaborate by what you mean by Apple Pay?
If you're referring to a debit / credit card you added to the Wallet app, Apple is not responsible for fraudulent activity. You will need to contact your card issuer to dispute this charge. The Wallet app is just a platform that supports adding your card and utilizing Apple Pay (tap to pay) with your Apple devices.
If this is for Apple Card,
You will need to speak with an Apple Card (Goldman Sachs) specialist to dispute the charge.
If the purchase was through the App Store or another Apple service, please follow - Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support.
Apple doesn’t handle your funds. They are not a bank and that’s not how Apple Pay works. Apple Pay is an extremely secure method transmitting encrypted data and a one time use token. Apple Pay replaces the connection between the merchant and the bank when you initiate a transaction. Apple never transmits or handles your funds. Any approvals or declines are from the bank that issued the card used to fund the transaction.
When a refund is initiated between you and the merchant, the merchant uses the last 4 digits payment to identify the transaction. The last 4 digits are printed on the merchant receipt and are also in your Apple Wallet app.
If the merchant approves the refund, funds are transferred from the merchants account to your credit card account. Again, Apple has no part in the refund.
If you’re having an issue with your refund, either the merchant or the bank (or both) are delaying it etc. Legally refunds may take 30 days, but that’s poor customer service and the merchant generally tries to avoid that.
If you’re curious about your refund, please contact both the merchant and your bank. Apple had no part in the refund process and can’t influence either participant. Good luck and I hope you receive your refund very soon!
I used my Apple credit card for the charge. I disputed the charges. The charges were resolved and I should have received the credit. It shows the vendor credited my account however the credit is not reflected in my available balance.
I disputed the charge with Apple credit card. I won, the vendor credited the Apple Credit card. However, my available balance does not reflect the credit. For example, credit limit is $5k, the charge was $500. My available limit is $4,500. Apple credit card is still holding the $500 (2yrs later!).
If you disputed the charge with Goldman Sachs Bank your account was credited the $500 instantly and you were refunded any interest paid and no interest is charged on the disputed amount during the dispute period. The merchant has little to do with this process except providing relevant documents. Credits don’t come from the merchant during a dispute.
Did you receive both a credit from Goldman Sachs and a refund from the merchant? Does your account show you still owe $500?
When you look at your Apple Card Details in your Wallet app on your iPhone does it show a Credit Limit of $5000 or $4500?
I never said my issue had to do with the vendor/merchant. My issue is Apple - Goldman credit company. Credit limit $5k (no other charges), available balance $4,500. It does not show I owe $500. The $500 is on some kind of hold. I have explained this to Apple Credit customer service plenty of times. They acknowledge the issue but still have not released the funds to reflect in my available balance.
What does your Card Details show for a Credit Limit? It shows $5000?
I have had a dispute since 2022. The merchant refunded me however the credit is NOT reflected in my available balance. Every time I have called they “escalate it”. It’s not rocket science.
Who is the dispute with? How does it involve Apple?
I just receive a text of a charge of 11.90 on my Apple Card I did not authorize
Your Apple Card Mastercard account?
Did you dispute the charge or receive a refund, two entirely different things. A dispute is with the bank that issued the credit card. A refund is return of a purchase.
Credit limit $5k, available balance $4,500. I know my issue seems so easy to fix but they have not.
